Cox Automotive has secured ISO certification for both health and safety and environmental management for all its UK-based businesses and locations including Manheim, Dealer Auction, NextGear Capital, Movex and Codeweavers.
Over the past year, the leading automotive services provider to manufacturers, fleets and retailers, sought to have an extra three locations certified to both ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, along with ensuring that several other Manheim Auction Services sites were re-certified against both international standards.
Those newly certified locations include Stafford-based digital retail solutions business Codeweavers, and Manheim Vehicle Services’ sites at Wyton and Bruntingthorpe.
Alan Barratt, Cox Automotive’s group supply chain director, said: “For the very first time, we can say all 33 UK locations under the Cox Automotive flag, and all our UK businesses, are fully ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certified. This is a huge achievement, something we understand makes us unique among our competitors.
“It involved a huge group-wide team effort and achieving and retaining both standards for all business areas and locations demonstrates how seriously we treat occupational health and safety and environmental management systems.”
Among other factors, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety certification demonstrates that Cox Automotive can identify and control hazards in the workplace, helping to prevent any accidents or injuries. ISO 14001 (for environmental management systems) helps businesses to reduce their environmental impact by minimizing waste, controlling pollution and conserving resources.
Barratt added: “Both standards also show that we always do the right thing in looking after our people. What’s more, it shows that we are continuously improving our performance as a business and are always seeking to do our best for customers.”
