TrustFord has officially opened its new Transit Centre in Carlisle, marking a significant investment in the region and further strengthening its UK-wide commercial vehicle network.

The new facility, located on Auction Drive, complements the group’s existing car retail site at Kingstown Industrial Estate, and brings the total Carlisle-based headcount to 43 employees.

Set across three acres, the new-build features a 15,000 sq ft showroom and an eight-bay workshop equipped to service electric and hybrid commercial vehicles. Sixteen new staff have been recruited specifically for the centre.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the site has achieved an EPC ‘A’ rating, incorporating solar PV panels and LED lighting to drive energy efficiency. It will also operate as a dedicated commercial vehicle servicing centre, supporting both retail and fleet customers.

Mike Bell, general manager at TrustFord Carlisle, said: “I’m really excited about the opening of our new Transit Centre. Whether customers are looking for a new or used commercial vehicle, fleet advice, or aftersales support, our expert Carlisle team is ready to help.”

The launch aligns with TrustFord’s strategic ambition to deliver nationwide coverage for commercial vehicle customers. The group now has operations spanning key markets including London, Yorkshire, Bristol, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

Glen Kennington, regional director for the North, previously noted: “Our expansion in Carlisle brings us closer to our goal of covering the whole country, ensuring we can support commercial vehicle operators wherever they are.”
