EMaC has reported a 25% rise in revenues from its service plans as soaring vehicle service plan sales generated over £252 million worth of aftersales revenue for retailers in 2017.
Despite the continued decline in used car sales, retailers showed that they were pulling out the stops to bolster customer retention and aftersales profits with EMaC’s products finding favour in the fight to bring return custom into dealership workshops.
John O’Donnell, managing director of EMaC, a subsidiary of Innovation Group, said: “The latest SMMT figures confirm that 2018 is going to be a tough market for dealers.
“However, although consumers are holding onto their current vehicle for longer, this presents opportunities to dealers.
“By helping car owners budget for maintenance and servicing costs, dealers will not only increase customer loyalty, but maximise aftersales revenue, as our generated Service Plan sales figures for last year demonstrate.”
In 2017, EMaC launched AutoQuote, an automated Service Plan quotation system designed to assist with the administrative process for dealers and help them boost sales.
O’Donnell said: “With the launch of AutoQuote we’ve made it easier than ever for dealers to generate quotes and secure that Service Plan sale. This is just one of the developments we’ve made, with more announcements coming in 2018.”
