AI-driven vehicle transportation solutions start-up Jigcar has appointed James Griffin as its transport director.

Griffin, formerly head of logistics at Cazoo, will oversee Jigcar's transport strategies and contribute to the development of its AutoPlan transport management system which is due to launch this quarter.

JigCar was established in 2024 as a start-up to deliver AI-driven transport software for multi-site dealer groups and car supermarkets.

Co-founded by former Cazoo colleagues Elliott Perks, Rupert Wood and Jackson Jacob, the business is positioning itself as key to unlocking greater dealer efficiencies and profitability by reducing the operational costs associated with transporting and holding stock.

This latest senior management hiring follows last year’s appointment of industry stalwart Simon Bottomley as Jigcar’s chairman.

Bottomley retains his position as chief operating officer of Vindis Group and was previously chairman of Hutchings Motor Group, chief operating officer of Hendy Group and group managing director of Thurlow Nunn.

CEO Elliott Perks said: "Having James on the management team is another step in our strategy to becoming the go-to team of experts in our field of automotive transport, not just a software provider."

In a recent funding round, Jigcar secured approximately £750,000 to further its mission of transforming automotive logistics.
