Intelligent Motoring has appointed former LeasePlan and BVRLA manager Alan Hunter as its new head of repairs.
Hunter will help enhance the customer experience and cost efficiencies for its Warranty Assist and MotorEasy customers, the company said.
He will prioritise working with Intelligent Motoring workshop partners and look to grow Intelligent Motoring’s network of workshops.
Duncan McClure Fisher, chief executive officer of Intelligent Motoring, said: “With a network today of over 10,000 garages across the UK, there is no underestimating the importance of the new role of head of repairs to our business.
“With his vast experience, Alan is ideally placed to develop and grow our team, whilst ensure the spirit of our vehicle ownership solutions remains, enhancing the customer’s journey while maximising long-term dealer relationships.”
Hunter has experience in the automotive aftersales sector, including 15 years at LeasePlan where he managed the complaint and administration functions, including the management and review of vehicles with major and reccurring mechanical issues.
He also has experience working with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the BVRLA.
Commenting on his appointment, Hunter said: “As motorists feel the economic pinch, they are seeking aftersales solutions which they can trust to be accountable, providing tangible peace of mind in the event of a service, maintenance, or repair.
“As head of repairs, I will oversee the claims engineers and support the claims and appeals teams, where maximising value for the end customer will be at the top of my agenda.”
Recent data analysis by Intelligent Motoring revealed a 24% rise in the value of Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) insurance claims from January to September 2022.
