Global carmaker Skoda Auto has applauded its UK sales operation by giving it the Importer of the Year award.

At a ceremony in Prague, Skoda UK also scooped more than 30 other national sales companies to take home two more awards for customer care and marketing.

Skoda UK's total registrations for last year reached a new high of more than 41,000 cars, representing a 2% market share – another milestone in the continued success for the Czech brand.

 

 

 

Robert Hazelwood, Škoda UK director said, “Škoda continues to go from strength to strength in the UK and 2010 was a fantastic year for the brand.

 

"Demand for all products in our five-model line-up has surged and customers recognise that Škoda is a brand that delivers great quality cars at outstanding value for money, delivered and serviced by retailers who take excellent care of their customers.

"To win two out of the five category awards and to scoop the overall importer of the year prize is an outstanding accomplishment and is testament to the hard work from everyone at Škoda UK and our network."

Škoda Auto achieved its best ever sales result in 2010 with 762,600 vehicles sold worldwide.
