Family-owned West Riding Group has acquired Bolton Car Centre for an undisclosed sum as part of its strategic growth plans.

The acquisition brings West Riding Group’s total Hyundai showrooms to four locations across the North West, with existing sites in Bolton, Colne and Salford.

The business has further plans to grow with Hyundai in the region.

The expansion comes as part of Hyundai Motor UK’s broader retail network evolution strategy, which aims to “prepare and optimise its network” by growing the number of showrooms nationwide, with a smaller number of partners to build closer and “more invested relationships”.

Nick Wright, managing director of West Riding Group, said: ”As a family-owned business that has represented Hyundai for over a decade, we’re delighted to strengthen our partnership through this strategic acquisition.

“We believe there is a strong alignment between our companies; values and vision, and with Hyundai’s class-leading electric vehicles and award-winning product range, we see tremendous opportunity for growth in the Greater Manchester area.

“This acquisition is just the first step in our planned expansion, and we look forward to delivering the best possible service for our customers.”

Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai Motor UK, said: “West Riding Group’s expansion in Greater Manchester exemplifies exactly what we’re trying to achieve with our network evolution strategy.

“They have consistently demonstrated their ability to deliver the premium experience our customers expect, and this acquisition will help us better serve one of our key market areas.”
