Chinese brands Omoda and Jaecoo have achieved an impressive milestone, registering 2,561 vehicles in the UK market since the launch of Omoda in September and under three months since Jaecoo entered in January.

Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) highlights the strong performance of both brands: Omoda, featuring the ICE OMODA 5 and all-electric Omoda E5, has registered 1,112 units while Jaecoo, with the Jaecoo 7 SUV, has recorded 1,449 registrations since its debut.

Victor Zhang, UK director of Omoda and Jaecoo, commented: “We have become the most successful new market introduction by volume. Based on our UK figures from SMMT, we are on track to surpass our 2024 total of 3,383 registrations (August-December) by the end of Q1 2025.

“It takes a strong team, a well-structured dealer and aftersales presence, and a tailored vehicle lineup - priced competitively for both private and fleet customers - to achieve this in such a short period. We will continue expanding our UK team, dealer network, and new vehicle offerings throughout 2025 and beyond. This is just the beginning, demonstrating our ‘Value. Every. Thing.’ philosophy and earning our place in the UK market.”

He attributed its rapid success to a combination of competitive pricing, a robust dealership network - with a growing network of 72 dealerships across the UK and more planned - and strong product appeal.

The brand’s UK presence is set to expand further, with the network expected to exceed 80 dealers by Q3 and forthcoming launches including the Omoda 9, Omoda 7, and Jaecoo 5.

Zhang said key partnerships with major retailer groups such as Arnold Clark, Allen Motor Group, Desira, Listers, M53 Motors, and RRG Group had been instrumental in raising brand awareness and accelerating sales.

All vehicles come with a comprehensive seven-year/100,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty provided servicing is conducted at approved Omoda and Jaecoo service centres.

Omoda and Jaecoo has also partnered with the RAC to provide free roadside assistance for its 1.6 petrol Omoda 5 and all-electric Omoda E5.
