Smart will expand its electric vehicle range with its new #5 mid-size SUV in Q4 this year.
The new SUV is Smart's third all-electric model in three years and joins the #1 and #3 in the brand's model line-up.
The entry-level model, the #5 Pro, comes equipped with a 76 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP).
From the #5 Pro+ onwards, all models are powered by a 100-kWh lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide battery (NCM) and built on an 800-volt platform, delivering a range of up to 366 miles (WLTP) and fast charging capabilities.
The range includes the dual-motor all-wheel drive #5 Pulse, #5 Summit Edition that also has all-wheel drive and off-road enhancements, while the top of the range #5 Premium offers a "refined driving experience premium comfort, and multiple colour trim options".
The 100-kWh NCM battery delivers up to 400 kW DC charging power and supports fast 4C charging, allowing it to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes under optimal conditions.
Storage solutions include 34 compartments, a 72-litre illuminated frunk, and a rear cargo capacity of up to 1,530 litres.

Pricing for the new #5 will be annonced closer to when order books open in Q4 this year.
