The specialist fleet vehicle repair chain Komoo is the latest acquisition target of Steer Automotive Group.

Komoo, which has 16 sites near major UK transportation hubs, caters for all forms of minor body repairs, from cosmetic dents and scrapes to full vehicle resprays, and is able to carry out a rapid repair service on all makes of car and light commercial vehicles.

Its round the clock operation is focused on corporate fleets and rental firms.

Komoo managing director Carl Henderson, who previously had 20 years experience at rental giant Enterprise, co-founded Komoo and opened its first repair centre in York in 2021.

Henderson and fellow directors Dale Peart and Jordan Ashmore will remain at the helm of the business, with the support of the new parent company.

"Becoming part of Steer Automotive Group marks a significant step forward for Komoo. This integration will enable us to leverage Steer's extensive resources, enhancing our ability to deliver rapid, high-quality repair services to a broader customer base," Henderson said.

"We are eager to begin this new chapter and contribute to Steer's growth and success."

Steer said the acquisition of Komoo aligns with the company's vision of becoming a leading provider of superior automotive repair services across a wider market, providing strategic diversification in the repair market.

Chief executive Richard Steer said: "We firstly want to extend a huge welcome to our new colleagues at Komoo.

"The acquisition will boost our repair capabilities, expand our service footprint and diversify our market presence, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the automotive repair sector and continue to meet the evolving needs of our clients and our industry."

Steer recently opened its first dedicated electric vehicle repair centre, after a series of acquisitions including Gemini Accident Repair Centres, Lovells, Pronto, Apollo and Balgores.
