Startin Group has bought St Peters Peugeot and Suzuki dealership from Hylton Group Limited.

The assets purchase, for an undisclosed figure, means the disposal of the last trading business from the Hylton Group.

Gerald Freeman, Startin Group managing director, said: “We are delighted to be taking on our second Peugeot dealership in a territory where we are well known with Skoda and Honda.

“We are also excited to be getting into partnership with Suzuki which is new to us although we have been talking on and off for some time.

“This will be our fifth site and third multi franchise site. We have great confidence in the Peugeot brand going forward and Suzuki a great addition to our current portfolio.”

ASE chairman Mike Jones, who brokered the deal through its Dealermatch service, said the business should prove a “great fit for the Startin Group”.

“This acquisition will no doubt enable the business go from strength to strength and boost bottom line earnings. I wish Gerald and the rest of the team every success. We are also seeing interest in the Hylton Group’s Cheltenham property which is now vacant”
