WR Davies has opened the doors of its new £3 million Nissan Stafford car dealership at a “landmark” event attended by the Nissan Motor (GB) managing director.

Group owner Jonathan Davies and Nissan Stafford dealer principal Alan Poole cut the ribbon at the new £3 million showroom on Valley Drive alongside Nissan Motor (GB) managing director, Alex Smith.

More than 100 invited guests attended the official opening event, which featured a champagne afternoon tea for everyone and a performance of Christmas carols by the Salvation Army band, as part of the dealership’s connection with the charity and its Christmas gift appeal.

Jonathan Davies said: “I am delighted so many of our customers and friends were able to join us for our grand opening and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Alex Smith, managing director of Nissan Motor (GB) for taking time out of his very busy schedule to attend this landmark event.

“Hopefully everyone involved had a good time, especially with the wonderful rendition of carols performed by the Salvation Army. We’re really grateful to them for making the event extra special.”

The new-look WR Davies facility encompasses Nissan’s luxurious new retail concept design which aims to deliver “a comfortable and relaxing customer experience in welcoming and modern surroundings”, a statement said.

Customers at the dealership will be greeted by a concierge service offering assistance in booking in for appointments or to make initial enquiries.

Staff will use tablet technology to discuss vehicle options and go through the buying process in “an informal, relaxed manner”, it added.

The new Nissan Qashqai, showcased under a canopy of light, is the first vehicle customers see.

At the centre of the dealership is an area for families to relax during their visit, with hot and cold drinks and a play station to keep young children entertained.

Additionally, an innovative “design lab” allows customers to explore the various personalisation options available across the Nissan range with the help of physical examples of potential trim and upholstery options and a touchscreen table.
