Nissan dealer J Edgar & Son has completed the extension and refurbishment of its showroom at Rowrah, Cumbria.

The extension sees an additional 80 square metres added to the facility which now offers a total of 450 square metres of accommodation for its sales and service teams and greater space for display cars.

J Edgar & Sons has 26 staff and keeps around 70 cars on the site.

Established in 1919, the operation is now run by general manager Jason Edgar, who is the fourth-generation of his family to run the business started by his great-grandfather who was a wheelwright for horse drawn vehicles.

Edgar told In Cumbria magazine: “The new Nissan style has been tried out in cities and is now being rolled out to all of its showrooms.

“We started the work in January and are one of the first to get it completed.

“It’s created a much more relaxed and flexible atmosphere.”

The facility was officially opened by athlete Simon Lawson, a former motocross rider from Maryport, Cumbria, who became a wheelchair racer after an accident in 2001 left him paralysed.
