Seat’s Ibiza Cupra will be priced from £18,825 when it goes on sale in the UK in January.

The new 178bhp 1.4-litre TSI model will have a 0-62mph time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 142 mph, yet, according to Seat, it will still be capable of 47.9 mpg.

The car comes with DSG automatic gearbox with paddleshift, SEAT Portable System , exhaust sound actuator system, sports seats, lowered ride height, black high gloss exterior mirrors, Cupra bumpers, black diffuser, ESP, bi-xenon cornering lights, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloys and hill start assist as standard.

Customers will be able to order the Ibiza Cupra from dealers next week.
