Bentley Motors sold more than 10,000 units last year, with global sales up 7%.

Profit rose 13.1% in 2007, according to Bentley's 2007 financial results, to a new record of £119m. Net revenue increased 2.7% from 2006 to £1.05bn.

UK sales were up 7% with the largest market increase in China at 93%.

Bentley attributes the results to the growth of the Arnage and Continental ranges. Sales grew by 45% in the Arnage line, thanks to the Azure convertible and by 5% in the Continental range, with the GTC convertible being the most popular model.

Dr Franz-Jozef Paefgen, Bentley chairman and CEO, said: "We expect to maintain this momentum despite the financial instability that has been affecting the world economy.

"Our plan has always been to achieve sales volume around the current levels as it gives us excellent profitability whilst maintaining brand exclusivity."
