PSA Peugeot Citroen will supply diesel engines to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation after an agreement was signed today by the two groups.
Mitsubishi will receive its first 2.2 common-rail diesel engines, fitted with a patented particulate filter from PSA in the summer.
Mitsubishi is to introduce its new SUV model the Outlander in Europe this month and, towards the end of 2007, will add a new diesel version powered by the 2.2 PSA diesel engine.
The Peugeot 4007 and Citroen C-Crosser will also use the new engine at their launch this summer too.
PSA and Mitsubishi decided to join forces in July 2005 to develop a new SUV. The two companies said they would continue to pursue cooperation strategies in ‘win-win’ areas.
