The Mazda5 and new Fiat Punto have been awarded the maximum five-star rating for adult occupant protection in the latest European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) testing.
The Mazda achieved the highest possible score in side impact safety – 18 out of a possible 18 points. It got three out of a possible five stars for child occupant protection and two out of four for pedestrian protection.
The new Fiat Punto was awarded three stars for child protection and three out of a possible four for pedestrian protection.
