Review
VW Commercial Vehicles has made a Kombi pack available for the Caddy Maxi window van as a no-cost option. It makes it capable of carrying five people at the cost of a bit of load area.
It deletes Caddy Maxi Life’s side windows in the load area to ensure a more secure and practical space for tools or racking equipment. The three-seater rear bench gained can split and fold to increase the loadspace from 1,650 litres to 3,950 litres, with a maximum load length of 1.8 metres and up to 713kg payload.
It’s a van that will attract SMEs and tradespeople due to its versatility and image. As well as a business tool, it can serve as a leisure vehicle at weekends.
We tested the 1.9-litre TDI PD DSG with 104bhp, which proved very driveable and relatively frugal (40.9mpg combined). A 139bhp 2.0-litre TDI PD derivative is available.
Price: £13,700+VAT and delivery
Rivals: Fiat Fiorino Combi, Vauxhall Combo Crew Van
