Selected Land Rover dealers in the south of England are offering a sporty version of the UK's best-selling 4X4 – the Freelander.
The Freelander Sport will be offered as a limited edition of 400 and is available from 43 dealers in the London area, south east and south west.
Based on the Freelander V6 GS and available in three and five door versions, the Freelander Sport limited edition features a package of accessories including 17-inch Triple Sport wheels, soft protection bar, double pod mounted driving lamps, mud flaps and lamp guards. Extra equipment includes a CD auto-changer and the interior is fitted with carpet mats. 'Sport' badges on the front wings define the model.
It costs £24,945 on-the-road.
The Freelander Sport (pictured) is fitted with a 2.5 litre, 177 PS, V6 petrol engine. Freelander V6 models are fitted with an electronically controlled, 5-speed automatic gearbox with Steptronic as standard. Also standard is ABS braking with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and 4-wheel Electronic Traction Control. All Freelanders feature Land Rover's innovative Hill Descent Control system that automatically slows the vehicle on steep off-road descents, improving safety and control.
