Review

A new high specification Rover 25 has been announced - the Rover 25 1.6 iXL. Its standard specification includes metallic or pearlescent paint, full leather trim, air conditioning, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), passenger and driver airbag and available in either 5-speed manual or Stepspeed (six-speed manual or automatic) transmission.

The 1.6 iXL is priced at £13,980 with £4,500 more 'kit' than they 25 iL, but only costing £2,600 more.

The standard spec includes air conditioning, 15-inch alloys, anti-lock brakes and central door locking, electric door mirrors and front windows, electric sunroof, passenger airbag and leather seat facings, gear knob and steering wheel.

The 5-speed has a 0-60mph time of 9.5secconds and the Selespeed, 10.3secs Top speed for the 5-speed is 115mph and the Selespeed, 110mph. The respective combined urban fuel performance figures are 40.8mpg and 37.8mpg.
