The new Mini from BMW will be priced from £10,300 OTR when it goes on sale on July 7.

There will be two models, the base Mini One, on sale at £10,300 and the Mini Cooper £11,600 (retail list price of £11,200). Built in Oxford, Mini goes on sale in Britain two months before anywhere else in the world.

Features of the new car include ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), and CBC (cornering brake control) as standard. BMW's Dynamic Stability Control System (DSCIII) is an option. Four airbags come as standard with an additional head airbag system also available.

Mini One has a 90 bhp engine producing a top speed of 115 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 10.9 seconds.

Mini Cooper adds the sporty design details to added power. A top speed of 125 mph from 115 bhp gives a 0-62 time of just 9.2 seconds.

Mini One standard equipment includes electric windows and mirrors, rear window wiper, adjustable front and rear headrests, height adjustable driver's seat, four disc brakes (ventilated at the front), tyre pressure warning indicator and Instant Mobility System, ABS, CBC, EBD, driver and front passenger airbags with seat occupation detection system, driver and passenger side airbags, automatic pre-tensioning seatbelts, remote control central locking, immobiliser and chrome door handles and grille.

Additional standard equipment in the Mini Cooper includes,rev counter on the steering column, white or black roof and door mirror housings, sports suspension, silver or white 15" alloy wheels and added chrome features.

Optional equipment (prices and availability announced nearer launch): head airbag system for driver and passengers, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and traction control, run Flat tyres on 16" alloys, CVT Steptronic automatic transmission, sports suspension on Mini I One (standard on Cooper), sport Plus suspension system on Mini Cooper, auto-dimming interior rear view mirror, fog lamps, Xenon headlights, 'panorama' sunroof with anti-trap mechanism, windscreen rain sensor, heated windscreen, heated wing mirrors and water jets, air conditioning and heated seats.
