Family run business TMS Motor Group has secured its third Kia dealership with an acquisition completed just ahead of Christmas.

TMS has taken over Loughborough Kia, which has been owned by the Johnson family since the Kia franchise was taken on in 2003 by company founder Clifford Johnson.

Johnson's company, Minerest Motors, had previously represented Skoda since it was founded in 1969.

In a post on LinkedIn TMS Motor Group said it was delighted to complete the acquisition and ensure that family-like care would continue for customers of Loughborough Kia.

A recent phase of expansion has led TMS, owned by managing director Len Hallows and run by his sons, to now have three Kia dealerships at Leicester, Hinckley and Loughborough plus three Volvo dealerships at Leicester, Hinckley and Coventry.

It leaves the group knocking on the door of the AM100 as it gains scale and nears the turnover threshold to feature in the UK's 100 biggest franchised dealer groups.

The group has a growing trophy cabinet of awards, including best aftersales team from Volvo in 2023 and Kia's Family-Like Care Award in 2016.
