BCA has combined its operations create the largest fleet of vehicle transporters in the UK as part of a restructure of its supply chain to improve support for manufacturers and fleet operators.

The new structure integrates the businesses of Ambrosetti and Paragon Automotive, acquired in 2016, alongside the existing vehicle logistics operations to better deliver key technical and logistics services for manufacturers and fleet operators from port and factory end to defleet.

Four strands of the BCA business have been defined in the changes, with BCA Vehicle Services providing new vehicle services, BCA Fleet Solutions delivering fleet management, defleet and refurbishment services, BCA Automotive handling multiple vehicle logistics, and BCA Logistics provides single vehicle movements.

The combined operations create the largest fleet of vehicle transporters in the UK with over 700 vehicles and a network of 25 de-fleet sites that will manage over 1 million vehicles a year.

Avril Palmer-Baunack, BCA executive chairman, said: “This new structure means BCA strengthens its operations covering the vehicle lifecycle. 

“The new national network of sites creates industry-leading capacity and the ability to create efficient solutions and economies of scale spanning new vehicle, in-life and de-fleet services.”

BCA is seeing growing volumes of stock both from existing customers and new business wins, a statement said, adding: “The ongoing investment programme is building capacity in the physical footprint, logistics, technology and process to provide an end-to-end supply chain service, alongside the core vehicle remarketing business.”
