Vertu Motors’ Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Reading Slough and Ascot will be overseen by Mark Gibbings after the experienced brand operator was appointed as market area director for the brand.

The AM100 retail group said that Gibbings will assume responsibility for developing staff across the three sites, driving performance and ensuring that the best possible customer experience is delivered.

Gibbings, a former parts advisor, brings more than 20 years’ experience and has knowledge of managing multiple Mercedes Benz sites, and more than 200 colleagues, in his previous role at Mercedes-Benz Retail Group, where he was general manager of its Colindale and Park Royal sites.

Prior to that, he ran Porsche dealerships for Jardine Motors Group and Porsche Retail Group.
