Aston Martin’s expanded UK dealer network is set to get a further boost with the introduction of a new Vantage coupe.
Powered by a 510PS four-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and boasting 3.5 second acceleration to 60mph and a 195mph top speed, the replacement for the compact coupe first launched in 2005 will e priced from £120,900.
Cambria Automobiles, Pendragon and new network additions Dick Lovett, Stoneacre and Sytner will be among the 21 franchised retailers who will welcome the new Vantage, which follows in the tyre tracks of the popular new DB11 which boosted dealer fortunes with its introduction to the range earlier this year.
The new model is part of the brand's ‘Second Century’ plan, which has targeted a doubling of vehicle production from 3,687 in 2016 to more than 7,000 in 2018.
Aston Martin president chief executive, Dr Andy Palmer, said: “It speaks volumes for the outgoing Vantage that it is the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history.
“Creating a worthy successor has been a challenge to relish and a huge source of motivation.
“I’m enormously excited by what we’ve created: a new Vantage that’s more explicit in looks and intent, wrapping heart-pounding performance and dazzling dynamics into an everyday usable package.
“A true sports car with a sharper look and a keener dynamic edge, the new Vantage is the Aston Martin pure driving machine enthusiasts have been waiting for.”
The new Vantage takes a new design direction, with a distinctive new face, and is the first model to feature electronic rear differential (E-Diff).
All Vantages will deploy their power to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, meanwhile.
The new Vantage’s chassis is an evolution of the latest generation bonded aluminium structure first seen on the DB11, meanwhile, with some 70% of the structure’s components are new for Vantage.
Among the standard equipment potential owners can expect to find are: keyless start/stop; tyre; a parking distance display, park assist and front and rear parking sensors; and eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system; and an integrated satnav system.
