Used car marketplace Motorway has appointed Tanya Cordrey as chief product officer (CPO) to lead the tech platform’s product development and management.

Cordrey joins Motorway after serving as vice president of product at Instagram, where she led the global monetisation product group responsible for advertising and commerce, including Instagram Reels.

Prior to her work at Instagram, she was Meta’s first tech VP appointed outside the US and previously held the role of chief digital officer at Guardian News & Media where she led the Guardian’s product innovation.

Motorway CEO and co-founder Tom Leathes said: “We are thrilled to welcome Tanya to the Motorway team. Her deep technology and product expertise, combined with her impressive experience scaling product teams globally, is exactly what we need to take Motorway to the next level.”

Cordrey added: “I am delighted to join the team at such an exciting time in their growth. Motorway is disrupting the traditional car sales market with innovative thinking, offering a fairer, faster, and simpler experience for both sellers and dealers.”

In addition to her product leadership, Cordrey is a trusted advisor, having worked with clients like Google and the Government Digital Service.

She also holds several non-executive director roles and was a trustee of GlobalGiving UK from 2008 to 2013, a charity that connects nonprofits with donors and companies.
