Fiat has facelifted its Tipo model with a refreshed design, new technology and updated powertrains.
It has also introduced a new Cross version, with a more-rugged look and raised ride height, to rival the likes of the Ford Focus Active.
The new Tipo range features updated LED headlights, refreshed bumpers and a redesigned grille, which includes the new Fiat badge.
The Tipo is the first Fiat to wear the brand’s new wordmark logo, following the recently unveiled new 500.
Inside, the passenger compartment has also bee updated with a fully configurable seven-inch digital instrument cluster to replace the previous analogue instrument panel.
A more ergonomic steering wheel also provides better visibility of the cluster, while the air conditioning controls have been updated with new chrome and black inserts.
The Tipo Cross brings a new variant to the Tipo family with a more SUV-like stance. Its new grille extends below the headlights and it features a higher ride height. The new Tipo Cross is almost 7cm taller than the regular Tipo.
It features an exclusive skid plate, bumpers and side skirts, with roof bars available on the Station Wagon version. Larger tyres create an even more robust look.
Powertrain details are yet to be revealed, but it’s possible the new Tipo will feature Fiat’s new 1.0-litre Hybrid engine that was recently added to the Panda and 500.
Further UK information on the new Fiat Tipo and Tipo Cross will be provided in November.
