Keyloop has appointed Tim Smith, former CEO of Automotive Transformation Group (ATG), as its new chief strategy officer (CSO) following its acquisition of ATG in May.

Smith's appointment comes as Keyloop integrates ATG’s strengths with its own, combining expertise to create the automotive industry’s first comprehensive retail platform named Fusion.

As CSO, Smith is leading a newly established strategy division that includes value propositions and marketing. His focus will be on positioning and advancing Fusion, which is designed to deliver significant value across the entire automotive ecosystem - including retailers, manufacturers, financiers, fleet suppliers, and partners on an international scale.

Fusion will cover four core domains: supply, demand, ownership, and operate.

Drawing from ATG’s expertise in omnichannel retailing, which focuses on supply and demand, Fusion will ncorporate Keyloop’s Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and aftersales capabilities to optimise the vehicle sales lifecycle - from customer inquiries to vehicle ownership and retention - aiming to enhance customer experience while improving operational efficiency.

The platform will evolve as the integration progresses, with early adopters benefiting from DMS integration with Keyloop’s NetDirector, iConvert and NetDirector SalesMaster by the third quarter of 2024.

Smith said: "We are laser-focused on simplifying the vehicle sales and ownership process and delivering on our Experience-First principles. Our ARP is not just about technology; it’s about transforming how our industry operates and providing real value for all involved.”

Tom Kilroy, CEO of Keyloop, praised Smith’s appointment, stating: “Tim is a powerful force for change in our industry and is highly regarded by both customers and partners. His impressive track record at ATG and his contributions to shaping the vision of Fusion here at Keyloop give me great confidence in his ability to drive further success as part of our Executive Leadership Team.”

Smith was appointed CEO of Automotive Transformation Group in 2022, stepping up from his role as chief revenue officer.
