Independent garages benefited from £22.26 million in additional revenue between September and November, thanks to online servicing and MOT booking platform BookMyGarage.

The figure reflects a 10% year-on-year increase, highlighting a growing trend among motorists to manage their vehicle maintenance through digital tools.

Motorists are increasingly using BookMyGarage to locate nearby businesses with available slots and good customer ratings.

Jessica Potts, chief marketing officer at BookMyGarage, said: “At BookMyGarage, we are heavily invested in driving traffic to our website, enabling the independent sector to attract customers who might not have otherwise discovered their business. Our partners tell us that our platform drives high-quality customers who often remain loyal for ongoing service needs.”

Launched in February 2024, BookMyGarage’s Accelerate package has proven a driver of growth. In the three-month period, garages enrolled in the programme generated £10.7 million of the platform’s total revenue, achieving an average return on investment (ROI) of 866%.

The package provides garages with a comprehensive suite of services, including uncapped Google ads, Bing ads, social media campaigns, and online booking functionality managed by BookMyGarage’s in-house team. Nearly half (48%) of all bookings during the period went to businesses enrolled in the Accelerate programme.

Potts highlighting the benefits, said: “Motorists expect an accessible and transparent booking process with a range of services provided. Convenience and quick availability are key, but excellent customer service and fair pricing remain top priorities for all our users.”

She added that garages enrolled in Accelerate receive significant boosts in visibility and customer engagement. The programme has led to 56% more customer reviews than non-Accelerate members; 45% more retail bookings and an average of 20 bookings per month, exceeding the guaranteed minimum of 60 bookings per year.

Independent garages on the platform receive an average of 91 customer reviews, a number that jumps to 142 for those on the Accelerate package. Additionally, 35% of bookings are made out of traditional business hours, enabling garages to capture opportunities that might otherwise be missed.
