Dealer group DM Keith, which became the UK's 50th largest motor retailer in this year's AM100 list, is opening another dealership for ambitious Chinese car brand BYD on January 2, 2025.

The outlet, at Bradford beside the group's Ford showroom in Canal Road, will be DM Keith's fifth site representing BYD.

Its others are at Leeds, Hull, Grimsby and York.

"BYD’s journey is impeccable and to join them in their dream and mission to change the automotive world is both exciting and in line with our vision and values at DM Keith," said Dougal and Angus Keith, joint managing directors of the family-run car dealer group.

The Chinese carmaker is growing in popularity around the world and now, in the UK market. However, it has been the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer for quite some time. BYD was established in 1995, and has since become an industry leader in electric vehicles, energy storage and renewable energy solutions.

The new BYD Test Drive Centre will showcase BYD's range of battery electric vehicles and its plug-in hybrid Seal U DM-i, plus the brand-new Sealion 7, and it will be open seven days per week.

In 2024 Yorkshire-focused DM Keith acquired Colin Appleyard, adding four Suzuki dealerships at Bradford, Keighley, Huddersfield and Ashton-Under-Lyne. Colin Appleyard was one of the longest-serving Suzuki franchisees in the country.
