Lookers has won two awards in recognition of its approach to email marketing at the recent Communicator Click Awards 2018.

Communicator is a North East-based email platform provider that Lookers uses as a supplier. It put on an awards ceremony at the Baltic in Newcastle on November 8.

Lookers won the categories for Best Return on Investment and Best Use of Communicator. It also won third place in the Sophistication – Most Improved category, which recognised those companies that have increased the accuracy and engagement of their email targeting.

The awards haul was an improvement on last year’s performance, when Lookers came second in the Best Use of Communicator category.

This is the second group of awards Lookers has won with its marketing department this year, after recently winning the In-House Marketing Team of the Year prize at the North East Marketing Awards.

The dealer group put the achievements down to a culmination of three years of brand building at Lookers, with its in-house marketing team inherited by the group following the acquisition of North-East based Benfield.

In that time the team has created a new logo, design style, tone of voice and even a four-legged mascot, Lucky the dog.

Heike O'Leary, Lookers group marketing director, said: “I am so proud of the in-house marketing team we have here at Lookers, who have once again proven their creativity and understanding of our customers and their responsiveness to email marketing.

“We have come a long way since the Lookers takeover and have become a lot more sophisticated about how we communicate our key messages.”
