Toyota has been named as the best automotive brand in world and the sixth best brand overall, according to the 2015 Best Global Brands Study, released by Interbrand.

Other manufacturers also made this year’s list, with BMW just out of the top 10 in 11th place and Mercedes-Benz close behind in 12th.
The study cited the strength of Nissan’s engagement with Millennials, effective sponsorship opportunities and customization offerings among the drivers of the company’s brand health and again named them a “Top Riser.”
Of the 15 automotive brands seen in the top 100, Nissan was the biggest climber this year, rising from 90th to 46th place.
The study cited the strength of Nissan’s engagement with Millennials, effective sponsorship opportunities and customization offerings among the drivers of the company’s brand health and named them a “Top Riser.”
The only manufacturer to register a drop in brand value was Volkswagen with a fall of 9%, although it is unclear whether the effect of its emissions scandal had any bearing on the results and it is still in the top five most valued automotive brands. Fellow VW Group brand Audi did not see a negative impact, with its brand value increasing by 5% this year.
