Family-run dealership Dick Lovett has revealed plans for a new, purpose-built dealership near Junction 16 of the M4.
This new site will combine their existing BMW showroom, Mini showroom, and bodyshop under one roof, currently spread across locations in Swindon’s Rushey Park, Ashworth Road, and Techno Trading Estate.
With dealerships located in Bristol, Hungerford, Melksham near Bath, Newport, Swindon and Tewkesbury, Dick Lovett is the country’s longest-serving official BMW partner, one of Porsche GB’s original partners, and holds a relationship with Ferrari that dates back to the 1970’s.
“Our current locations, a short distance away in Swindon, are no longer fit for purpose,” the business said on its website. “Currently, our BMW showroom, Mini showroom and bodyshop are located in different places around Swindon. This no longer meets our needs, the needs of the manufacturers, or the needs of our customers.”
Currently in the initial stages of design, the new site was selected for its strategic location that does not impose on nearby residential areas and convenient connections to the motorway network helping to reduce traffic flows through the town centre. It is also near to Dick Lovett’s Ferrari and Porsche showroom on the other side of Junction 16.
A Dick Lovett spokesperson said: "The new venue will be purpose-built, integrating a modern car dealership with a cutting-edge bodyshop, ensuring a superior experience for every visitor. The state-of-the-art facility has been designed with both customers and staff in mind, offering an environment that prioritises comfort, convenience, and efficiency.
“Every aspect of the new space has been tailored to provide the highest standards of service and support. The plans also include significant new landscaping through tree and hedgerow planting, and the new buildings will be built with green roofs to support biodiversity and manage water run-off.
“The site will also be powered in part by renewable energy from solar panels, include 18 EV charging points, and will have an effective environmental management system which will monitor electricity consumption, water and gas usage.”
