Lookers has unified its Land Rover and Jaguar franchises in Glasgow at its Hillington Park dealership.

The newly formed Lookers Jaguar Land Rover retailer will now serve customers from in a location between Glasgow city centre and Glasgow International Airport.

Lookers opened Scotland’s largest Jaguar dealership in 2018 after a £7 million investment and the 29,000 square foot facility has 70 external display spaces and a showroom over two floors.

While the Hillington Park location will now feature Land Rover as well as Jaguar, Lookers has also chosen to retain its Land Rover site on Maryhill Road in Glasgow, previously under Taggarts.

The location was acquired by Lookers as part of its Scottish business expansion in 2003 and the location will continue to support the local Jaguar Land Rover operations.

Lookers’ Jaguar business had previously been located at Maryhill Road before the new space at Hillington Park opened in June 2018.

Duncan McPhee, Lookers’ chief operations officer, said: “We’re delighted to be unifying the iconic Land Rover and Jaguar British brands within a special, purpose-built and dedicated space. “

McPhee said the relocation of Land Rover from Lookers Glasgow North “naturally complements the unique offerings in an expansive and modern space” which features a drive-through servicing facility, more customer parking bays, workshop ramps and showroom space.

In addition to a brand heritage and dedicated merchandise area, Lookers' Land Rover clients will have access to a barista bar, seating areas, interactive colour and trim displays, enhanced parking facilities and a dedicated vehicle handover area.

Recently, Jaguar Land Rover announced its name change to JLR, unveiling a new corporate identity and logo as part of the company's Reimagine strategy.

JLR will transform Jaguar into a purely electric vehicle (EV) brand by 2025 and expects 60% of new Land Rovers to be zero-emissions capable by 2030.

However, the Land Rover heritage mark will remain “a vital element, prominently displayed on vehicles, online platforms, and retail sites”.

JLR is also transforming the business to become carbon net zero across its supply chain, products, and operations by 2039.

Central to this strategy is electrification, with plans to introduce pure electric models to the Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender collections by the end of this decade.

Furthermore, Jaguar will transition to a fully electric line-up.

Lookers' presence in Scotland extends beyond the Hillington Park retailer, encompassing Lookers Volkswagen Van Centre in Bailieston, Glasgow, and Lookers Audi in Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Hamilton, and Ayr.
