The founder of Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has hailed plans for new £3 million "landmark" showroom development in Sunningdale, near Ascot.
Franchisee SuperVettura has gained planning permission for the scheme which will demolish the 100-year-old dealership currently occupied by the business on London Road, Sunningdale.
It will be replaced by a two-storey showroom stocking Koenigsegg models and other luxury and supercar models.
Koenigsegg founder and chief executive Christian von Koenigsegg said: “This will truly be a landmark Koenigsegg showroom, on a by now Koenigsegg historic sales location, showcasing the brand growth.”
SuperVettura founders Tommy Wareham and Paul Burrows have been official representatives of Koenigsegg since 2005, establishing their own retail business, SuperVettura, in November 2010.
SuperVettura have remained the UK’s sole representatives for the hypercar brand ever since.
Demolition of the business’s existing showroom will get underway in Q1 next year, with an estimated completion date for the project of summer 2024.
Bonds Newland Development Services Ltd will Project Manage the development which features exterior design created by Arktec Ltd and an interior created by KB Architects.
A joint statement issued to AM by SuperVettura owners Wareham and Burrows said: “This landmark new showroom will represent a statement of where both SuperVettura and Koenigsegg have come from and the extremely exciting future that both brands have in the UK moving forwards.
“We would like to sincerely thank all of our customers past, present and future for your ongoing loyalty and support. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful new showroom in 2024.”
