Waylands Automotive has officially opened the doors at its new 10-car Oxford Volvo car dealership following a £1 million investment in the site.
The move to the group’s new home in the former Jaguar dealership site on Cumnor Hill – adjacent to the retailer’s previous premises – allows the business to display more approved used Volvo Selekt models on the forecourt as well as delivering increased customer parking.
The showroom also features a signature lounge area, complete with Scandinavian furniture, free Wi-Fi, plus coffee and cake for a Swedish ‘fika’ break.
Dominic Gouldsborough, general manager at Waylands Oxford, said: “The team and I are delighted that our brand-new showroom is now open.
“The investment in the site demonstrates the high level of importance we place on making the Volvo customer experience as individual and as enjoyable as possible.
“We cannot wait to welcome customers for a cup of coffee and a chat about their car purchase and servicing needs in our new home.”
The opening of Waylands’ new Oxford dealership comes marks the latest development at the single-brand retail group which was founded by former Ridgeway chief executive John O’Hanlon in November 2017.
It comes 11 months after the Oxford franchise point’s acquisition from Johnsons Cars and six months after the opening of its new £6m showroom and workshop facilities on Imperial Way, Reading.
The group now has four Volvo franchises – in Newbury, Oxford, Reading Swindon – and projects a £92m turnover this year with an aim to achieve revenues of £100m within three years.
