Jennings Group staff are preparing to draw on the success of Tour de France 2018 winner Geraint Thomas to host their own Teesside Tour de Ford event, in association with Team Sky.

Ford, who are Team Sky’s exclusive supplier of cars and vans, are hosting free Tour de Ford events around the country. 

The group rides will be accompanied by Team Sky-liveried Ford Mondeo estate cars, used to support the Tour de France winning team.

On August 18, keen cyclists across Teesside are being invited to take part in a Tour de Ford led ride, which is scheduled to start and finish at the motor dealer group’s Yarm Road-based dealership in Stockton.

On the day, cyclists will take part in two routes of approximately 30 and 50 miles, alongside a number of support vehicles, including two which are being supplied by Jennings Ford. 

Ray Riaz, general manager at the Stockton-based Jennings Ford dealership, in addition to Lee Spence, sales controller, and Paul Nixon, sales executive/deputy business manager, are all taking part in the event.

In 2017, 23 dealerships held a Tour de Ford event with over 1,600 participants registering to attend the live days.
