John Clark Motor Group has opened its new £9 million Aberdeen Audi Terminal showroom to become the retailer's largest location.
The new site has created 22 jobs and brings total number of staff at the location to 151. A large majority of the new positions are required to staff the aftersales department which will include 39 Audi trained technicians and 12 apprentices.
The new showroom sits alongside the group’s recently completed Mini and Nissan dealerships.
Audi's Terminal style building is the first of its kind in Scotland. The four-acre location is double the size of the previous Audi site and will have room for 200 parking spaces.
The showroom has space for 22 new cars and includes a dedicated Audi Sport area for customers that want to personalise the performance and body styling of their car.
Visitors to the site can choose between two lounge areas to speak with sales executives as opposed to the more traditional and formal desk format.
A room has been dedicated to a digital Audi configurator, which will be opened later in November and there are two customer handover rooms.
The site also has space for an interior used car forcourt with space for 12 used vehicles. There is also space outside to display 120 used vehicles.
The service area has 33 ramps, two MoT bays and an express fit tyre bay.
Drive-in service
The service area lets customers drive straight in to three lanes inside the aftersales department, located right next to the service desk.
Upon arrival guests will be greeted by a concierge before being introduced to their service advisor. The aftersales department also has room to house pre-ordered courtesy cars.
Customers that want to wait while work is carried out on their car can have breakfast or lunch, or catch up with work in the business lounge. The dealership also has a PS4 and bean bag area.
Alan Robertson, head of business for Aberdeen Audi, said: “Anyone that visits the new site will immediately see the customer benefits, ample customer parking being the first obvious example, and with the drive-in service, handover bays and exceptional lounge facilities we have great foundations to deliver both exceptional and memorable customer experiences.”
Chris Clark, group business development director, said the opening of the new dealership has been a significant investment, but one that is justified due to the performance of the Aberdeen business in recent years.
He said: "There has been extensive thought and consideration into the design of the building to ensure we will meet, and hopefully exceed, customer and our colleague’s expectations to deliver the showroom of tomorrow.”
The opening follows on from John Clark's inclusion at third place in The Sunday Times Top Track 250. Top Track 250 ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies by sales which were record-breaking for a fifth consecutive year at John Clark with turnover up 28% to £604.1million in year end 2014.
