Renault is accepting pre-orders for its new fully electric Megane E-Tech, allowing prospective customers to secure one of the first examples of the model for a £500 deposit.
Priority List customers will also gain access to exclusive launch events and test drive opportunities.
To date, more than 7,000 customers have expressed an interest in the all-electric model. Prices will be announced later in the year.
The Megane E-Tech is the first of a new generation of electric vehicles (EVs) from Renault, built on its CMF-EV platform, styled within the brand’s ‘sensual tech’ design language and the first model to wear the new ‘Nouvel’R’ logo.
All models are powered by a 60kWh battery for a WLTP-certified range of up to 280 miles on a single charge, with AC/DC rapid charging up to 130kW as standard, delivering up to 186 miles of driving range (WLTP) in as little as 30 minutes.
“We’re incredibly excited about the arrival of the All-New Renault Mégane E-Tech, and with more than 7,000 customers having already expressed an interest, it seems we’re not alone,” said Guillaume Sicard, country head UK & managing director of the Renault Brand UK. “By joining the Priority List, customers can now secure their place in the queue to be one of the first to own what is set to be one of the most exciting and in-demand electric vehicles available.”
Customers can choose from three models – Equilibre, Techno, and a range-topping Launch Edition – with each featuring a 12.3-inch driver information display, 9-inch multimedia display, and Android Automotive OS with integrated Google services.
The Equilbre comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights, heated steering wheel and front seats, rear view camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a range of connected services including over-the-air software updates.
The Techno model adds adaptive cruise control with speed limiter and lane centring, blind spot recognition and intervention, and rear cross traffic alert with rear automatic braking. Its exterior is marked out by 20-inch wheels, full adaptive LED headlights, front and rear signature lighting and dynamic turn signals. The interior, meanwhile, gains upholstery made from recycled materials, multi-sense customised driving modes with 48-colour interior ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, automatic windscreen wipers, wireless smartphone charging and the full range of Google services including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play store.
At the top of the range, a special Launch Edition gains a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, smart rear-view mirror, and Around View 3D camera system.
