Mini Financial Services is serving up a new insurance solution MINI Hatch drivers which charges on a pay-per-mile basis after the first 6,000 miles.
The MINI FlexiMile scheme employs telematics technology to ensure that motorists are only charged for the miles they drive the car above and beyond the 6,000 mile marker.
Mini claims that the FlexiMile telematics system – which is integrated within the car at point of production – is focused on recording distance rather than driving style.
Customers of MINI FlexiMile will receive a monthly statement detailing their accurate mileage and associated costs.
Steve Cann, general manager of insurance solutions at BMW Group Financial Services, said: “With car insurance making up a high proportion of a driver’s monthly outgoings, it is clear that anything that can be done to manage that expenditure is key.
“Through pay-per-mile insurance, drivers can take real control of their expenses, with the added convenience of data being automatically provided to the insurer.”
