BYD's latest model, the SEAL U DM-i (PHEV), has achieved a 93% average score in the Green NCAP assessments, earning a prestigious 5-star rating.

Delegates to this year’s Automotive Management Live will be able to get a closer look at BYD’s new D-segment SUV which uses BYD’s advanced Super Dual Mode Technology, offering a WLTP-approved range of 500 kilometres.

Powered by an 86 kWh battery, the SUV offers an official consumption rate of 20.5 kWh/100 km, validated through independent Green NCAP testing.

These assessments include high-stress conditions like the high-load highway cycle and the Cold Ambient Test at -7°C, where large SUVs typically face increased energy consumption. Despite these challenges, the SEAL U demonstrated strong efficiency and performance.

Priced from £33,205 OTR, the SEAL U DM-i is available now in the UK market in two trims, starting with the Boost and the high spec Design trim at £39,905.

An all electric Seal U is also planned as part of BYD's ambitions to field an electric vehicle (EV) in every segment of the UK market.

It is already establishing a franchised dealer network with over 100 expected to be established before the end of next year.

The brand has already partnered with dealer groups like Vertu Motors, Lookers, Arnold Clark, LSH Auto, Swansway, Pentagon and more.
