Bristol Street Motors Orpington Ford has undergone a major transformation, shifting its focus exclusively to commercial vehicles following extensive refurbishment.

Previously a dealership for both new and used cars and vans, it is now fully dedicated to meeting the rising demand for commercial vehicles.

The grand reopening of the revamped facility took place on September 12, with local businesses and the community invited to explore the new offerings.

Over the past five years, the dealership has seen a sharp increase in demand for commercial vehicle maintenance and repairs.

In response, it has expanded its after-sales service capacity by 300%, an investment aimed at reducing vehicle downtime and supporting businesses that rely on their commercial fleets.

Geoff Taylor, general manager at Orpington Ford, said: “We understand the critical role that commercial vehicles play in our customers' operations. A vehicle out of service can cause significant disruption.

“By increasing our workshop capacity, we can now provide quicker repair times and minimise downtime, reinforcing our commitment to being a reliable partner in our customers’ success.”

The UK’s commercial vehicle market has experienced strong growth, with production surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 15.6%.

Robert Forrester, CEO of Bristol Street Motors, highlighted the dealership's proactive response to these industry pressures: “The increased demand for commercial vehicles requires faster, more efficient after-sales services. Our investment in advanced equipment and skilled technicians at Orpington Ford ensures we can meet this demand while maintaining the high-quality service our customers expect.”

The newly upgraded workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, and additional technicians have been recruited to handle the increased workload.
