BMW is marking the 30th anniversary of the M5 with a limited edition run of 300 models which will be the most powerful production car the brand has offered in the UK with 591bhp on offer.
The BMW ‘30 Jahre M5’ will be limited to 300 units globaly and feature a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 which features power boost from 567bhp on the M5 Competition package to 591bhp on this special edition model, as well as a torque boost by 14lb ft, to 516lb ft, so now the 0-62mph time takes 3.9 seconds.
Fuel consumption and emissions are unchanged despite the power upgrades, at 28.5mpg and 231g/km of CO2.
The Jahre M5s feature all the Competition Package’s mechanical changes, including firmer springs, retuned dampers, a 10mm ride-height drop, new mapping for the steering, and a specific M Dynamic mode for the ESP.
Standard features also include matt silver paint, black-chrome trim for the twin kidney grills, side vents and exhaust pipes, ‘30 Jahre M5’ badging and darkened 20-inch alloys. Interior features include leather and alcantara seats and steering wheel.
BMW has not confirmed prices for the 30 Jahre M5 and it is not clear how many cars the UK will get out of the 300 unit allocation. Prices are expected to be close to £90,000.
