Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has appointed Chris Black to the newly created role of head of fleet.

Black will take up the new role on June 9 and joins from Lombard Corporate Asset Finance where he held the role of UK head of corporate coverage.

Previously, he was with Lombard Vehicle Management for 17 years, rising to the board-level position of head of customer services.

In his new role, Black will report directly to Andrew Waite, head of sales operations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and will be responsible for spearheading the brand’s fleet sales operation.

Volkswagen CV posted a 19% increase in commercial vehicle registrations in Q1 to 10,757 units.

Volkswagen CV’s fleet team comprises five area managers, four corporate managers and five business centre managers covering England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
