Lexus has revealed production pictures and details of its new NX compact crossover which will go on sale in the UK in autumn this year.
The new model will go up against the BMW X3 and is based on the Toyota RAV4. It will sit below the RX in the Lexus model range.
Takeaki Kato, NX chief engineer, said that Lexus has approached all phases of the model’s development from the perspective of its target customers – young, urban drivers with active lifestyles who want premium products.
The NX will be offered in the UK in two guises. The most popular model will be the 300h, which features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder paired with an electric motor.
The other model will be the entry-level NX 200t, which uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo front-wheel drive and will be offered for around £30,000.
Full specification and pricing will be revealed closer to launch towards the end of this year.
