Dealer group Ford Retail is launching a new partnership with Cancer Research UK with a national car auction on the February 19, giving customers a chance to bid on cars with a starting price of a penny.

The event will be taking place at Dagenham Motors in Edgware from 6pm. Ford Retail will also be hosting six other auctions at dealerships across the country including Dagenham Motors Ripple Road; Heartlands Ford, Erdington; Brunel Ford, Ashton; Lindsay Ford Lisburn and Polar Ford, Huddersfield.

Each dealership will have one car on offer with the reserve price of a penny and customers will be able to secure a part exchange for their old vehicle or finance package for the final amount.

The vehicles available will range from Ford Fiestas to Ford Focuses and all proceeds from the auction of the 1p cars will go to Cancer Research UK.

Ford Retail will be hosting an online auction also from 6pm on the 19th on eBay. This will run until midnight on Sunday, February 23, giving customers over four days to bag themselves a bargain.

Cancer Research UK is Ford Retail’s official charity partner and the brand has a number of further initiatives planned to engage employees and customers and help raise funds. Ford Retail also supports motor industry charity BEN.
