A new British sports car brand will launch in April under the name of David Brown Automotive.

The new business has been set up by David Brown, who intends to create “a classic sports car with modern capabilities and conveniences”.

The new model will not be an update of an existing model and the design team is being led by ex-Land Rover chief designer Alan Mobberley. Automotive engineers, Envisage Group, will be developing the car for limited production.

Brown said: “I wanted all the impact and style of a classic sports car, but with modern capabilities and conveniences. This is what I want in a car, but it’s not something anyone really offers. So, I’ve created it myself.”
