RAC BuySure, the used car initiative which uses the RAC name for used stock which meets a set of standards, is targeting franchised dealers after initially launching with a focus on car supermarkets and independent dealers.

Dealers using the scheme have largely been independent and car supermarkets, but Mario Dolcezza, RAC head of dealer propositions, is now looking to expand the scheme to attract franchised dealers.

Dealers using the RAC BuySure scheme commit to an 82-point RAC Approved Preparation Standard on every used vehicle, a minimum of three months’ RAC Warranty cover, three months of complimentary RAC Roadside breakdown cover provided free of charge and enrolment to RAC Accident Management Service.

The initiative has been created by the RAC with its long-time partner in the warranty sector, The Warranty Group.

Dolcezza, said: “Dealers are finding that the investment in the right stock and the right preparation to retail a car through RAC BuySure allows them to price accordingly.

“Customers are recognising that only very high quality used cars are being sold through the initiative and are willing to pay for the inherent peace of mind.”
