Thurlow Nunn will open a new Vauxhall brand centre in Milton Keynes in January 2014 following a £5 million investment.
The new business will create 50 jobs.
Simon Bottomley, chairman and group managing director of Thurlow Nunn, said: “I, along with the Thurlow Nunn Executive Board, have been working on this new development for some time and we are delighted to be in a position to let our customers know about this exciting proposition for our company.
“Subject to satisfactory planning consent, work on the new site is expected to start in spring this year.”
Established in 1875, Thurlow Nunn has had a relationship with Vauxhall for over 30 years and is now one of the largest family-owned Vauxhall franchises in the UK, with 10 sites across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
The news of the group’s first Vauxhall venture into the Milton Keynes area comes 11 months after Thurlow Nunn acquired two Vauxhall dealerships in Norwich, adding to its other sites in Beccles, Diss, East Dereham, Fakenham, Great Yarmouth, Holt, King’s Lynn and Wisbech.
The branch in Milton Keynes will be built to the new Vauxhall ‘Delta’ plan, designed by architect Bisset Adams, and will include 20 workshop bays, two MoT bays, a 13-car showroom, space to display 92 used cars, 163 customer parking spaces and a covered customer handover bay.
