Peugeot has rolled out a new training programme for its dealer network in preparation for the launch of the new 308.

Over 1,000 Peugeot UK dealer employees have gone to Peugeot’s Coventry HQ to learn about the 308’s new i-Cockpit touch screen system, focussing on completing 10 common tasks to help them explain the benefits to customers.

Neil Moscrop, Peugeot’s director of sales, said: “The New 308’s 9.7-inch touch-screen is one of the biggest of any new car and extremely intuitive for users of all ages.

“But dealers need to be confident in showing off its many features to potential buyers and challenging them like this is a great way to educate them.”

The ‘tech tasks’ included turning off the parking sensors, saving a DAB digital radio station into the pre-sets, adjusting the climate control and using the interactive ‘help’ function.

The training also included seminars on every aspect of the 308 and dealers had the chance to test drive the car and compare against key competitors.

Moscrop said: “We’re devoting a quarter of the training to the car’s new technology, more than ever before.

“Everything about the development of the New 308 has been about going that ‘extra mile’, and that extends to preparations for its arrival in showrooms.”

The 308 is available to order and officially goes on sale from January 2, 2014 priced from £14,495.
